A Perth healthcare worker has tested positive to Wuhan deadly virus, Coronavirus ( Covid-19), and may have become the state’s first confirmed case of the virus.
The spread of coronavirus is faster than it was at the early stage with global record of over 200,000 cases. Four healthcare workers and one police officer have tested positive to COVID-19.
As at this time, the number of people who have tested positive to coronavirus in Western Australia is 35, while over 400 cases have been confirmed Australia-wide.
The woman diagnosed of COVID-19 in WA is an allied health nurse working in the not-for-profit sector supporting children with disabilities in Perth’s south-eastern suburbs.
She is the first person to be diagnosed with coronavirus in WA without having travelled overseas, or been in contact with a known case.
